Announcement!

October 2025 marks an exciting milestone in our shared journey.

After more than a year of listening, reflecting, and planning, I am proud to share that Residential Services, Inc. is now RSI Community.

Back in early 2024, we added a special section to our annual survey. Two themes came through clearly: our full name, Residential Services, Inc., did not fully represent our mission and sometimes created missed connections with the public. We listened. RSI has long been recognized and respected for excellence in supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our new name reflects who we are at our core — a community. Keeping our acronym, long associated with excellence, honors our strong roots as Residential Services, Inc.

While our name has changed, our commitment has not. For more than 50 years, RSI’s work has been defined by the relationships we build, the security we create, and the independence we support. We continue to champion people with disabilities to thrive in communities that support their interests, passions, and goals.

RSI Community honors our past and strengthens our future.

Our updated belief, vision, and mission put into words what has guided RSI for decades:

Belief: All people should have the opportunity to achieve their own version of success.

Vision: People with disabilities are valued in their community, encouraged to pursue their dreams, and empowered to lead fulfilling lives.

Mission: We support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing comprehensive, individualized services and secure living options to help them thrive in their community.

Our new look reflects who we are and where we come from. The house-shaped frame is a nod to our past and honors RSI’s history of creating real homes and safe places to belong. It also ties to our focus on inclusive living.

The central tree is formed from human figures. Leaves and circles suggest people and lifting arms, showing support, connection, strength, growth, and stability.

Our colors of Slate Navy, Powder Teal, and Pistachio Green were chosen to feel soothing, welcoming, and calming. They also convey strength, safety, trust, and optimism. Many stakeholders asked for a refreshed look. After all, we’ve been wearing burgundy since 1974 — and it was time for a change.

In the coming weeks and months, you will begin to see RSI Community on our signs, website, and materials. Staff will wear new RSI Community shirts, and new swag will be available for purchase soon. We will also share visuals and talking points to help everyone feel confident introducing this new chapter.

This isn’t a break from who we have been. It is a new way to carry our legacy forward — honoring over 50 years of impact and preparing for the next 50 years of growth, advocacy, and community. In many ways, it’s the continuation of what RSI has always stood for: a tradition of new possibilities.

Thank you for being part of this community and for helping make RSI what it is today. I could not be prouder to take this next step together as RSI Community, where everyone belongs and every neighbor matters.

With gratitude,

Scott A. Keller
