About Residential Services, Inc. (RSI)
Since 1974, our mission as a nonprofit organization has been to provide exceptional residential services and community-based support to individuals of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Today, RSI supports more than 115 people and their families in Orange County, NC.
And new for October 2025... We’re putting the finishing touches on a refreshed brand that reflects the heart of RSI — the relationships, security, and independence that define our community.
This isn’t a break from who we have been. It is a new way to carry our legacy forward — honoring over 50 years of impact and preparing for the next 50 years of growth, advocacy, and community. In many ways, it’s the continuation of what RSI has always stood for: a tradition of new possibilities.

Our Mission
RSI provides living options and related supports to people of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities. RSI promotes quality of life by maximizing self-determination, development of independent living skills, community involvement, meaningful social roles, and socially responsible behavior.

Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities have the services and supports they choose in order to live lives characterized by happiness, dignity, health, and the highest possible degree of social responsibility and productivity.
